Best things about resortOutdoor pool was maintained nicely, snack bar was not fancy but food good and affordable, staff was attentive and beach was quaint.
Best attractions or restaurants nearbywhale head beach, aqua restaurant, sushi in nags head, stay away from the Sunset Grill

ReviewUnit was average, needs updating. The cleaning staff did an awesome job! Our first unit had 1 TV and old furniture. No views from Unit 104. Had to move units in the middle of our vacation. We waited 3 hours to move. Unit 114 had sound and ocean views. Lots of steps to the units, you will get your exercise. Staff made us feel comfortable even though units were run down. The indoor pool needs a major overhaul. The workout area was rusted and smelled very musty. Ran out of food at the welcome BBQ, it was a great idea but think it was poorly organized. Beach showers need to be repaired.

ReviewThis was a 2 BR unit. The bedrooms were both downstairs. That was fine. But both bathrooms were Downstairs and that got tiring. The location was poorly lite at night. The bath towels were thin and scratchy. The closet int he second BR was useless because the bed was right up against it and there was very little dresser space in either bedroom. The washer/dryer was old and rusty and the Microwave was old and outdated. Not up the the standards that we are used to from RCI.

Best things about resortWe were in Building "A" which faces the beach, a must unless you are in the one building on the Sound side. View and sound of the ocean was outstanding. Short drive to everything.
Best attractions or restaurants nearbyThe lighthouses and Roanoke Island. Food was a little pricely but we avoided the fast-food type for the more popular restaurants. Got some wonderful tips from a local on the first day.

ReviewResort obviously has some age but our unit (A-10) appeared to have been recently refurbished with fresh paint and the furniture was very comfortable and nice. Cell phone and tv reception was very "ify" most of the time BUT you are on vacation! Very surprised by all the historical attractions in the area. We had to form an itinerary each morning of things to do and places to see. We had April rain for three days but worked around it. We would recommend May or June for a little warmer temperature. The inter buildings at the resort did not have any view at all, if that is important, and it was to us...got fantastic pictures! Great trip.

Review4-4-09 -RCI moved us on day 3,wish I had called on day 1. Crank windows did not work & screens screwed in place - called for repairs - no one ever came. No toilet paper. Resort says beach or sound views - we viewed a pine tree & a cat kept trying to get in - kids allergic to both. Had disabled elderly parent who wanted to see beach - had to drive her to/from b/c too far for her to walk. Asked to move - told no b/c RCI exchanger and you get what you get. "Found washer & dryer" in garage area of unit on day 2. Resort we moved to was directly on beach & very well kept, they said others came to them from Ocean Pines often.
